How to get more traffic to your site

Whilst it may seem like a daunting, laborious task, consistently updating your homepage will do wonders for your website and go a long way to attracting new customers online.

To help make your life easier, here are ten top tips that will do the all-important job of keeping your website fresh and up-to-date!

  • Use new images. If you are, for example, a car dealership, it’s no use having outdated photos for people to view of cars that you may have already sold. Updating images consistently is a great way to showcase the continued proactivity and evolution of your business.

  • Think about starting (or continuing) a monthly blog post. This helps to inform users about what projects you may have undertaken recently, providing valuable insight for potential new clients.

  • Understand the importance of using keywords relevant to your business. Implementing keywords into any of your website content helps boost Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), which will boost your Google rankings, allowing people to find your website far more efficiently. Notice any particular keywords that attract visitors to your site? Including them in each piece of relevant text will dramatically boost your engagement numbers.

  • Add website functionality. This could be in the form of an online store, an e-seminar or an exclusive members area. Improving the depth of your website always helps your business seem more complete to a potential client or customer.

  • Showcase your social media activity. If you post regularly about your business on social media, don’t wait for people to go to your profiles. Instead, include a live feed of your latest Facebook, Twitter or Instagram posts as another means of introducing possible clients to what your business offers.

  • Include incentives like a pop-up of a promotion, discount or limited-time offer. In the consumerist era of today, a little discount could be all a customer needs to have their interest piqued regarding your business, helping you gain an edge on your competition!

And remember, as a subscriber to Vinegar Creative, you receive an allocated amount of my time each month, where I could work on some of the updates suggested above, alongside including examples of your previous work, whether that’s in the form of a banner, case study or portfolio!
